Abstract

The thesis examines European standards of prosecutorial activity in criminal proceedings through the prism of international legal standards and the specific features of legal regulation within the European Union. The concept of international legal standards, their characteristics, and their significance for ensuring human rights and freedoms are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the formation of European standards as a result of the combination of coordination and imperative regulatory methods inherent in international and national law. It is substantiated that European standards of prosecutorial activity function as normative standards aimed at ensuring legality, effectiveness, and independence of prosecutors in criminal proceedings. Their importance for harmonizing Ukrainian legislation with European legal approaches is emphasized.
