Шляхи захисту виборчих прав громадян у період місцевих виборів 2020 року

Abstract

The article substantiates the need to protect the expression of the people's will during elections in Ukraine, as well as ensuring the electoral rights of citizens as an important requirement for building a democratic legal state. It is noted that one of the main areas of work of the "Civil Network "Opora" is independent election observation; promotion at the legislative level of the inevitability of punishments for election crimes, etc. It is emphasized that the issue of ensuring proper compliance with the election procedure is a relevant and urgent issue today, and the liability for violations provided for by law is a necessary guarantee of the expression of the people's will and an integral component of the electoral process. At the legislative level, ways for citizens to protect their electoral rights have been defined. It is noted that violations of rights during elections can be avoided if citizens are more aware and actively participate in the electoral process.
