Abstract

The article emphasizes the need to identify effective solutions to overcome Ukraine’s debt challenges. In particular, it focuses on outlining the potential use of trending methods and instruments that are widely applied in international practice. A comparative analysis of financial repression, fiscal consolidation, debt restructuring, and green and infrastructure bonds is conducted to assess the feasibility of their application in current or prospective Ukrainian practice. It is determined that none of these methods or instruments possesses a complete set of advantages: while some demonstrate effectiveness in certain contexts, others prove to be ineffective. This indicates the absence of a single comprehensive strategy for resolving the country’s debt problems. The debt situation is shaped by a multiplicity of specific conditions and characteristics, requiring an individualized selection of appropriate methods and instruments. In this context, the significance of the experience of both advanced economies and emerging markets that have faced debt challenges and identified effective solutions is emphasized.
