Abstract

The training manual "Cartography and Orientation" is intended for the training of specialists in the field of law enforcement and is aimed at providing students with higher education with technological knowledge of the theoretical foundations of mapping and the application of acquired knowledge, skills and abilities in practice. Using the study guide, students will acquire theoretical knowledge and acquire practical skills in traditional and modern orientation in the area with the help of the latest technical means (navigators) and without them, will be able to select the nomenclature of maps of the given area, make an application for obtaining the necessary nomenclature of maps, prepare a map for work, determine the coordinates of one's location and local objects, determine the angles of directions according to the compass and map, absolute and relative heights, fields of invisibility, the steepness of slopes, distances on the map and on the ground, read maps and draw up plans and diagrams of the area and the scene of the event.
