Анотація
At the present stage of development of society, the requirements for the education system, the quality of professional training, the formation of necessary professional qualities are increasing. These foundations are mainly laid during studies at a university. The social success of a person is undoubtedly associated with his knowledge, skills, erudition and general ability to think - this is collectively called general intelligence. However, often a high level of general intelligence alone is not enough. The concept of emotional intelligence arose as a response to the developing understanding of general intelligence in social contexts. It became obvious that there may be a significant gap between a person's general intelligence and his social success. Therefore, emotional intelligence was recognized as a decisive factor influencing the effectiveness of future professionals, since it contributes to a humanistic approach to personal development and learning, facilitates self-acceptance and supports the personal maturity of future professionals. The article is devoted to the theoretical understanding of the phenomenon of emotional intelligence as a psychological category. The relevance of the study is substantiated, which is associated with the insufficient development of the theory of emotional intelligence and its prognostic significance for personal development and professional growth. It is noted that insufficient attention is paid to the development of emotional intelligence in the educational process. The article reviews the approaches of foreign and domestic researchers to understanding the essence, structure, and component composition of the phenomenon under study. The essence of the concept of emotional intelligence and possible theoretical combinations of emotional intelligence and creativity for achieving success are considered. Recommendations are given for the development of programs for psychological and pedagogical support for the development of emotional intelligence in the system of vocational education.
