Abstract

The master’s thesis is devoted to the study of psychological characteristics of coping with difficult life situations among internally displaced persons under conditions of war and prolonged socio-stressful influences in contemporary Ukrainian society. The research focuses on the mechanisms of experiencing life difficulties, the specificity of coping behavior, and the resource capacity of individuals who have undergone forced internal displacement. The thesis provides a theoretical and methodological analysis of scientific approaches to understanding difficult life situations, coping behavior, psychological resilience, and resource-based models of overcoming stress. An empirical study of the psychological characteristics of coping with life difficulties among internally displaced persons was conducted using a set of valid psychodiagnostic methods and descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the obtained empirical results, a training program of psychological support was developed and substantiated. The program is aimed at fostering adaptive coping strategies, enhancing resilience, mobilizing personal and social resources, and reducing psycho-emotional tension among internally displaced persons. The scientific novelty of the study lies in deepening the understanding of the specificity of coping behavior among internally displaced persons in the context of prolonged wartime and social challenges, as well as in the comprehensive analysis of the relationships between subjective appraisal of stressful events, resource availability, and the choice of coping strategies for dealing with difficult life situations
