Abstract

The paper considers the methodology of studying ordinary fractions in the course of mathematics in primary school as an important component of the formation of mathematical competence of students in grades 5–6. The significance of the topic "Ordinary Fractions" in the system of school mathematical education is substantiated, its place in curricula and current textbooks is analyzed. Special attention is paid to the psychological and pedagogical features of the perception of fractional numbers by students of early adolescence, as well as the role of clarity, practical orientation and interdisciplinary connections in the learning process
